JapyScript JPS Version 1.5.0 Beta
JapyScript JPS is a hybrid scripting language for 2D mobile game development, combining Python readability with JavaScript flexibility to ease mobile coding. It features a Mobile First philosophy with no mandatory semicolons and an indentation shield that uses curly braces instead of strict spacing. It runs on Python 3.8+ for cross-platform compatibility across Android via Termux, desktop terminals, and HTML5 web browsers. The repository includes documentation, examples, and the core Python runtime. For code examples and engine integration with tools like RenPy or Godot, please refer to the referenced repository and documentation. The project is licensed under the MIT License and created by James.

How to Install and Run JapyScript (JPS)
JapyScript is a scripting language, not a ready-made app, so you can run it on any operating system (Windows, macOS, Linux, Android/Termux) by following these short steps:
Prerequisites
Make sure Python 3.8 or newer is installed on your device.
Download and extract the ZIP
Download the file JapyScript-v1_5_0-Beta.zip from this page, then unzip it into the folder where you want to use it.
Open a command line / terminal
Use the cd command to move into the project's main folder (the one that contains main.py). For example, on Android (Termux):
cd ~/storage/downloads/JapyScript-v1_5_0-Beta
ls
Or, using the direct path:
cd /sdcard/Download/JapyScript-v1_5_0-Beta
Run the example scripts
Run a JPS script through the main engine by giving the path of the example file after the command.
Hero Walk example:
python main.py examples/01_hero_walk.japy
Logic Test example:
python main.py examples/02_logic.japy
Note (under development): The current version is the v1.5.0 Beta test release. If you run into problems with the compiler system (Lexer / Parser), you can report bugs or send suggestions in the community section below!
One thing to check: the folder name is written two ways (JapyScript-v1_5_0-Beta with dots and JapyScript-v1_5_0-Beta with underscores), and the ZIP name uses yet another style. Make sure the name in your cd command matches the folder that actually appears after extracting, or the command will fail.
